“Renewable Energy at ACUA” — Richard S. Dovey, President of the Atlantic County Utilities Authority (ACUA)

The ACUA has been nationally recognized for excellence in innovation, efficiency and environmental stewardship. As a strong proponent of renewable energy, ACUA President Richard Dovey initiated many of ACUA’s green projects, such as a 500-kilowatt solar project, a landfill gas-to-electricity project, South Jersey’s first compressed natural gas (CNG) station and, most notably, the construction of the wind farm at ACUA’s Wastewater Treatment Facility. The 40 million gallon-per-day wastewater treatment plant is located in Atlantic City, NJ, and the regional sew-erage collection system serves 14 municipalities throughout Atlantic County. Dovey will discuss more about New Jersey’s first wind farm, other ACUA renewable energy projects, and plans for the future!
