A Framework for Talking About Climate Change
Monday, February 25th, 2019
Rutgers Cooperative Extension of Ocean County
7 p.m – 8:30 p.m.
Free; Registration requested

Communicating about climate change and its effects on coastal and marine ecosystems can be difficult. Learn strategies to make it easier using tested communication tactics based on shared societal values and mechanistic metaphors designed to promote climate engagement. Check out the homepage of Climate Interpreter and the National Network for Ocean and Climate Change Interpretation.

The featured speaker will be Jennifer Hoey (PhD Student, Dept. of Ecology and Evolution, Rutgers University; Member, National Network for Ocean and Climate Change Interpretation Scientific Partnership Committee). Jennifer will be giving a presentation entitled: “A Framework for Talking About Climate Change”.

As a part of the Marine Extension Program Seminar Series (MEPSS) with Rutgers Cooperative Extension, this will be a free “HyFlex” seminar, where people can attend live at the Rutgers Cooperative Extension of Ocean County (1623 Whitesville Road, Toms River, NJ 08755) or remotely via webinar.

Please register by Thursday, February 21 if you are planning to attend either by coming to Toms River or participating remotely via webinar by contacting Kelly Jurgensen (kjurgensen@co.ocean.nj.us, 732-349-1152).
