Beneath the Surface: A Look into Dr. Ken Able’s new book

November 12, 2020 @ 6:30 pm - 7:30 pm

The Mullica Valley estuary and its watershed, formed over the last 10,000 years, are among the cleanest estuaries along the east coast of the United States. This 365,000-acre ecosystem benefits from a combination of protected watershed, low human population density, and general lack of extensive development. Join marine scientist Kenneth Able for detailed insight into his new book “Beneath the Surface”. Dr. Able’s book describes the kinds of habitats, the animals, and plants that live within the Mullica Valley estuary. In addition, participants will gain a better understanding of the importance of these shallow waters and how change is occurring as the result of climate variation. Beneath the Surface emphasizes the kinds and importance of the animals and plants that live beneath the surface of this unique ecosystem. Book was published by Rutgers University Press. www.rutgersuniversitypress.org.
